 | The County Jail in Kootenai, Idaho is referred to as the Kootenai County Public Safety Building. There are two separate divisions within the Jail Bureau of the Kootenai County Public Safety Building. These two divisions are the Service Division and the Custody Division. The Service Division works to maintain the inmate commissary, medical treatment for inmates, making food for the inmates, the inmate worker program and several other responsibilities.
The Custody Division of the Jail Bureau is in charge of taking care of the inmates and also, they are responsible for the custody of the inmates at the Kootenai County Public Safety Building. Furthermore, the Custody Division makes sure that the inmates have good housing arraignments, they delivery inmates their daily meals and medication, and also they deliver mail to the inmates. The Custody Division basically is the first line of contact and service with the inmates at the Kootenai County Public Safety Building and they also engage in inmate transportation needs in addition to random searches of the inmate housing areas when necessary. |
