Abdi Ali Ahmed, a Somali immigrant, moved from Columbus to North Dakota to live with a friend. Within 40 days, the 18-year-old was dead, having been stabbed and beaten. A 22-year-old woman convicted of manslaughter in the slaying is sentenced to 11 years in prison, with a year off for time served.
