The people gathered Tuesday at the Hinds Hospice administrative offices in Fresno had mixed feelings about being there. No one wanted to hear that hospice founder Nancy Hinds was stepping down as president and chief executive officer after more than 30 years, but they also were eager to welcome her successor, Amy Tobin, chief of nurses at Kaiser Permanente in Fresno.
