30, May 2012 - Portsmouth work-release escapee gets 6 more months
PORTSMOUTH Anthony Ruffin, 31, an inmate apprehended in Newport News after he failed to return to a work-release program run by the Portsmouth Sheriff's Office, will now serve six more months. On Thursday, General District Judge Morton V. Whitlow gave Ruffin a $250 fine and sentenced him to 12 months, with six months suspended, on a misdemeanor escape charge.

PORTSMOUTH (AP) -- An inmate will spend another six months in jail for escaping from a work-release program in Portsmouth.
