In 2003, the Prison Rape Elimination Act was established to make confinement units, jails and prison free from rape. There are 12 prison institutions in Iowa distributed in 8 judicial districts. Currently, Iowas law doesn't permit criminal punishment. The last inmate put to death was Victor Feguer on March 15th 1963. |
