LIBERTY, Mo. - A 31-year-old northwest Missouri man has been sentenced to life in prison for killing a 19-year-old student. Marcus D. Smith of Kansas City was convicted in Clay County in February of second-degree murder and three other charges in the August 2011 death of Samir Clark.
