Amber Alert Cancelled for 2-year-old Cael Whitehead
UPDATE: Marion County sheriff Bo Burnett confirms that the Amber Alert came to a safe end along I-24 near exit 152 Wednesday afternoon. Burnett says several truckers noticed the information on the overhead TDOT billboards and spotted the car. They then boxed in the vehicle until a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper could arrive and pull Austin Whitehead over. Whitehead was taken into custody without incident and his son Cael was taken into protective custody. ---INITIAL ALERT:A Tennessee Statewide AMBER Alert has been issued for the Houston County Sheriff's Office for 2-year old Cael Whitehead. Cael was last seen at his residence on January 9, 2013 at approximately 9:00 am Cael is a 2-year old white male, with blue eyes, brown hair, weighing 35 lbs., and is 2'6. Clothing description for Cael is currently unknown. He is believed to be in the company of his father Austin Whitehead. Austin is a 23- year old white male, with green eyes, brown hair, weighing 170 lbs., and is 6'0 tall. Austin is believed to be traveling in a green, 2003 Pontiac Grand AM with tag # BYQ 0161. Austin has made suicidal threats in the past and may be a danger to others. There are warrants on file for Austin Whitehead. Austin may be en route to the Covington, Georgia area.
